He was predeceased by: his mother Patsy Short Hickey; and his son Josiah Long. He is survived by: his father Harold Long; his wife Lynne Marie Short Long; his children, Blake Long (Ashley) of Boaz, AL, Logan Thomas (Samantha) of Ft. Payne, AL, Zachery Thomas (Cheyanna) of Richmond, Savannah Martinez (C. J.) of Geraldine, AL and Brittany Edwards (Buddy) of Albertville, AL; his siblings, Billy Long (Stacey), Danny DeWayne Long (Deanna), Charles Brent Thomas, Brian Long (Mary Beth) and Elizabeth Renee Applegate (Bobby); and his grandfather Orbin Long. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
