He is survived by: his children, Franklin Long, Jr. (Janey) of Henderson, Debra Ratliff of Richmond and Brenda Scott (Larry) of Berea; and his siblings, Charles Long, Shirley Long, Glyndon Long (Sheila) and Frances Long Wagers. He is also survived by several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
