He was predeceased by: his parents, Henderson Barrett and Ethel Lockard Barrett; his son Mark Barrett; and his sisters, Wilma, Carrie and Wanda.

He is survived by: his children, David Barrett of Richmond, KY, Paul "Ethel" Barrett of Berea, KY, Warren A. Barrett of Michigan and Lisa Marie Barrett Phenis of Alabama. He is also survived by two nieces; and a host of grandchildren.
