It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dessie Barnes (Richmond, Kentucky), who passed away on March 15, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnnie Slone and Glacia Anderson; and her siblings, Shannon Slone, Dilent Moore and Essie Norman.
She is survived by: her son Phillip Barnes (Malena); her grandchildren, Haley Barnes, Destiny Barnes and Cody Barnes; her stepgranddaughter Hannah Jones; her stepgreat-grandchild Jahsiah Gibson; her siblings, Nelson Slone, Johnnie Slone, Linda Stapp, Kathy Bryant, Judy Poynter and Sue Dick; and her half-sister Patricia Potts. She is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
