He is survived by: his wife Freda Gadd Thomas; his children, James E. Thomas of Richmond, Donald Thomas of Richmond, Ricky Thomas of Irvine, Linda Thomas Portwood of Richmond and Doris Preston (Paul) of Richmond; his grandchildren, Brandie Preston, Tiffany Preston, Kayla Preston, Carley Thomas and Emily Thomas; and his great grandchildren, Christian Tyler Preston and Ryleigh Winkler Preston. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
