He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James T., June Sasser, Dillard and Rhoda Tate; and his parents-in-law, Bert and Mary Ellen Murphy Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Carole Thomas Tate; his parents, Kenneth Tate and Danella Sasser Tate; his siblings-in-law, Bert Thomas (Lori) of Richmond, KY, Laura Fritz of Richmond, KY and Kathy Cornett (Chris) of Stanton; and his nieces and nephews, Matthew Wade (Hannah), Braden Thomas, Micah Johnston, Logan Bicknell, Flynn Cornett, Zane Cornett, McKenzie Schneider (Casey) and Piper Cornett. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
