She was predeceased by: her spouse Chenault Gentry Ray; her parents, Delbert A. McCowan and Ressie Jo Bryant McCowan; her son Bruce Shannon Ray; and her brothers, J. B. McCowan and Delbert A. McCowan Jr..
She is survived by: her daughters, Janet Bauer (George) and Anne Patrick (James); her grandchildren, Quinn Bauer, Emma Catherine Bauer and Evan Patrick; and her close friend Bettie Warren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
