He was predeceased by: his parents, John William and Anna Lee Craig Richards; his wife Rita Richards; and his daughter Alicia Richards. He is survived by: his siblings, Linda Keown, Bill Richards (Sandy) and Russell Richards (Bessie); and his brother-in-law Jeff (Tammy). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
