She was predeceased by: her daughter Sherise Gowins; her parents, Henry Morris and Arlethia Morris; and her sisters, Hilda Cherry and Mildred Harrison.
She is survived by: her husband Allan; and her children, Jamar Gowins, Rashawn Gowins (Kamil) and Terri Gowins. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 brother, 4 sisters, several stepchildren, and a host of extended family & friends.
