He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Ray Sowders and Dorothy June McCormick; and his son Michael R. Sowders, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Joyce Marie Bastoni of Montana and Wendy Rose Anderson of Louisville; his siblings, Rick McCormick (Wendy) of Bowling Green, Ron McCormick (Missy) of Mt. Washington, Glenn McCormick (Susan) of Taylorsville, Teresa McCormick (Ronald) of South Carolina and LaDonna Smith (James) of Florida; and his stepmother Glenda Sowders.
