He is survived by: his wife Lucille Murrell Williams; his children, Kristy Edwards, Joseph Lamont Williams, Becky Tolbert and James Edelen; and his sisters, Geneva Williams, JoAnne Taylor, Mattie Edelen, Dorothy Myles, Debora Williams and Sarah Hayes. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
