He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Thomas and Irene Westernfield Hayes; his children, Amanda Hardin and Frank Hayes; his grandsons, Nicolas Hayes and William Hayes; and his siblings, Bobby Hayes, Leston Hayes, Lonnie Hayes, Herbert Hayes, Frank Hayes, Naomi Tarrence and Bertha Elder.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Cruse Hayes of Radcliff; his children, Charlie Hayes, Jr. (Savannah) of Elizabethtown, Edward Hayes (Vanessa) of Newnan, GA, Danny Hayes (Samantha) of Elizabethtown, Shawn Hardin of Elizabethtown, Tammy Klinglesmith of Radcliff, Cynthia Perez (Anthony) of Buffalo, KY and Angie Perez (Erron) of Bossier City, LA; his siblings, Dorothy Williams of Louisville and Roy Hayes of Louisville; and his daughter-in-law Jennifer Hayes of Hodgenville. He is also survived by thirty-one grandchildren and forty-six great-grandchildren.
