He was predeceased by: his parents, Ola Elizabeth Beshear Kirvis and George W. Russell; his wife Martha Russell; his daughter Stephanie Russell Midkiff; and his brother Gerald "Pedro" Russell.
He is survived by: his sons, Dustin Russell (Keisha) of Madisonville and Barry Russell (Sharon) of Dawson Springs, KY; his stepson Kevin Blackston (Tonya); his grandchildren, Asja Russell, Parker Russell, Hannah Midkiff Torres (Zeak), Haley Midkiff Blue (Tommy), Emma Midkiff and Kelsie Blackston; and his great grandchildren, Makayla Torres, McKenzie Torres and Landon Torres. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
