She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Gus and Lois Neel; her great-aunts, Libby and Weasie Dowell; and her great-grandparent Rose Marguerite Dowell.
She is survived by: her mother Liz Essen; her brothers, Alex and Evan Essen; and her nephews, Shawn and Nikolas Essen. She is also survived by a multitude of family members, friends and fellow Marines.
