He was predeceased by: his father Cody Max Farthing; his wife Amelia Ann Farthing; his daughter Kathy Jane Farthing; and his siblings, Jimmy, Ronnie, Robert, Bill Farthing and Doris Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Hayes (Scott) of Sturgis and Joretta Hayes of Sturgis; his siblings, Max Farthing of Morganfield, KY, Delores Owens (Frank) of Henderson, KY and Maxine Arhelger of Sturgis, KY; and his grandchildren, Carrie Jane Driesbach, Daniel Hayes, Melissa Jo Powell, Amanda Elizabeth Carr, Jennifer Lynn Smock and Matthew Lincoln Hayes. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
