She was predeceased by: her parents, Woodrow Wilson and Hazel Evelyn Claxton Thomas; her daughter Lisa Renee Elder; and her brother James "Jimmy" Thomas. She is survived by: her children, Kim Giannini (Tracy) of Caldwell County and Jason (Tami Vernon) of Indianapolis, IN; her siblings, Judi Stone of Eddyville, Martha Wyatt of Princeton, Linda Cartwright of Smyrna, TN and Philip Thomas of Princeton; and her grandchildren, Corey, Clay, Macie, Meridan Giannini, Carson and Lily Vernon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
