He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Ward, Sr. and Mary Elois Thomas Ward; his son Brian Scott Ward; his brother Hugh L. Ward; and his grandchild Connor L. McSwain.
He is survived by: his wife Debbie Williams; his daughters, Sherry Diane Ward Fralick (David) of Princeton, Dallas Ann Ward of Princeton, Anna Lee McSwain (Brian) of Ohio and Kristina Jean Thompson (Jason) of Caldwell County; his siblings, Mary Lee Burkhart of Princeton, Martha DeBoe, Roger Ward (Sharon) of Fredonia and Thomas Ward (Sandy) of Caldwell; and his grandchildren, Caitlyn Brooke Fralick, Cole Hunter Fralick, Dyllan Grace McSwain, Lacy Clara Thompson and Jaxton Dean Thompson.
