He was predeceased by: his parents, Ramey Johnston and Lois Wallis Johnston; his daughters, Vicki Johnston and Alice Johnston; and his brother Charles W. Johnston.
He is survived by: his wife June Thompson Johnston; his daughters, Christi Forsythe (John) of Princeton and Lisa Morris (Robin) of Princeton; his grandchildren, Janet Forsythe, Melody Markham, Michael Forsythe and Jason Morris; his great grandchildren, Harrison Markham, Jameson Markham, Noah Morris, Jacob Forsythe and Emma Forsythe; and his nephew John McNeil Johnston.
