He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar "Ted" Tackett and Myrtle Hall Tackett; and his sister Peggy Lee Tackett. He is survived by: his wife Edith Stumbo; his stepchildren, Loran Stumbo Jr. of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Teresa Stumbo of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; his stepgrandchildren, Edith Ann, Toby, Milton Ray, Taylor Stumbo and Carter Tackett; his stepgreat-granddaughter Savannah Stumbo; his siblings, Betty Sue Tackett Courtney of Florida, Bonnie Kurrek of Huber Heights, Johnny Tackett (Lula) and Rosemary Tackett; his nieces and nephews, Jonathan Gibson, Ryan Kendall and Amy Kurrek; and his great-nephew Andy Gibson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Pilgrims Home Old Regular Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
