He was predeceased by: his parents, Clement Wooten and Cordie Harrelson Grainger; his wife Lois Lundsford Grainger; his son Michael Douglas Grainger; and his siblings, Dwight Grainger, Fredrick Grainger, Hazel Miller, Barbara Hayes and Margaret Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, Eric Paul Grainger (Dorothy), Angela Faith Talbott (William), Kimberly Hope Simpson (Steven) and Lisa Love Grainger; and his brother Dr. Terrance Grainger of Conway, SC. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
