He was predeceased by: his parents, George Buck Hopson and Anna Elisabeth Ward Hopson; and his siblings, Gertrude Webb, Claude, Scott Hopson and Bonnie Goble.
He is survived by: his children, Leo David Hopson II (Stephanie) of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Sherry Williams (Eddie) of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Jessie, Tim Wallen, Shelly, Evan Ousley, Kelli, Cameron, Kaylee, Colin, Harleigh, Gabe, Lakin, Maddie, Sadie, Colton, Ashton and Riley; his great grandchild Blake; and his siblings, Robert Hopson and Joyce Daniels. He is also survived by Nieces & Nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at 6:00 PM and on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home - Martin (7 Clinic Dr, Martin, KY 41649). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
