He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Short and Irene Short; and his grandchild Eluria Hazlett. He is survived by: his sons, Chris Short of Huntington, WV and Daimen Short of Chesapeake, OH; his fiancé Tracy Samons of Prestonsburg, KY; his daughter Amber Hazlett of Flatwoods, KY; his stepdaughter Keesha Romans; and his grandchildren, Domonic, Xander, Dakota, Brianna, Nathaniel, Alyssa, Emily, Adam and Alex.
