He was predeceased by: his parents, Hence and Lillie; his son Delmer; and his great-grandparent Herman. He is survived by: his wife Vernadean; his son Roger (Cindy); his siblings, Hence Shepherd, Jr. and Evelyn Shepherd Brashear; his grandchildren, Kim Weatherford (Gary), Denny Shepherd, Renee Kirtley (Matt) and Ashlea Shepherd; and his son Gene "Dean" Shepherd (Herman). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
