He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Cavanaugh and Beatrice Cavanaugh (Stevens); his son Chris Cavanaugh; his stepfather Bill; his siblings, Melvin, Jimmy Cavanaugh and Mary Starling; his grandson Justin Starling; his son-in-law Bobby Manley; and his brother-in-law Wayne Morgan.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Cavanaugh of Port Royal; his children, Amber Alberto (Igal) of Stockton, CA, Elaine Starling of Reedsburg, WI, Karen Morgan (Deana) of Grand Marsh, WI, Laura Manley of Frankfort, Kelly Cavanaugh (Kim) of Portage, WI, Burt Cavanaugh (Marlena) of Portage, WI and Wesley Merryfield (Anita) of Jackson, TN.; and his sisters, Shirley Morgan of Milwaukee, WI, Caroline Premo (Rick) of Storm Lake, IA, Carol Jean Owen (Keith) of Portage, WI and Priscilla Felix (Douglas) of Greenwood, WI..
