He was predeceased by: his wife Marcia Moody Brashears; his son Matt Neal; his parents, E. M. Brashears and Mattie Brashears; and his siblings, Mac Brashears, Fred Brashears and Jo McClain.
He is survived by: his daughter Julie Berry (Dale Sr); his brother Bob Brashears (Phyllis); his grandchildren, Dale Jr. (Melanie) and Brandon (April); his great grandchildren, Mallory, Hadley, Jackson, Cooper and Evelyn; and his sister-in-law Mary Bess Cecil. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
