He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Simpson and Corte Lee Carter; his wife Hester Carter; his daughter Vonnie Stader; his grandsons, Richard Schlosser and Cody Gordon; his great grandchild Quinton Dunn; and his siblings, Lucy Rankin, Polly Johnson, Sadie Thompson and Jeff Carter.
