He was predeceased by: his parents, Mason Gibson and Beatrice Mosley Gibson; and his wife Edna Johnson Gibson. He is survived by: his daughters, Diana Denise Slone (Marty) and Tena Teresa Gibson Smith (late Stuart Smith); his siblings, Eugene "Gene" Gibson (Betty), Geraldine "Derry" (late Jim Rush), Elma Glee "Ebbie" Short (Hillard), Elliouse "Addie" (late Milburn Slone), Bethel Lee "Betty" Gibson and Oberene "Obie" Gibson (Rose); his grandsons, Adam Warren Slone (Lyndsey) and Solomon Stuart Smith (Megan Hall); and his great grandchildren, Ava Reese Slone, Jonah Warren Slone and Host of Loving.
