He was predeceased by: his parent Burt Bruner; and his siblings, Aubrey Bruner and Opal Gann. He is survived by: his parent Minnie Sloan Bruner; his wife Coleen "Cody" Daugherty Bruner of Pineville; his children, Kimberly Kretten (Michael), Michael Bruner and Robert Bruner; his grandchildren, Maggie Reynolds, Molly TenBrink and Phillip Michael Bruner; and his great grandchildren, Andie, Austin Reynolds and Tucker TenBrink. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many wonderful friends.
