He was predeceased by: his parents, Ballard Slone and Hazel Amburgey Slone; his granddaughter McKenna Slone; his siblings, L. C. Slone, Delmas Slone, Clyde Amburgey, Shelby Huff, Melvina Thacker, Sally Myers and Betty Rose Slone; and his brother-in-law Tommy Adams.
He is survived by: his children, James Slone (Carla), Shellie Ratliff (Yates), Brandy Owsley (Jason) and Tiffany Sparkman (Zack); his grandchildren, Nikki Collins (Chris Thornsberry), Seth Slone, Keaton Napier (Alexis), Alexis Lucas (Brandon), Macie Prater (Dyllon Hall), Kaleigh Napier, Peyton Ratliff, Kaden Napier, Addison Slone, Chezley Prater, McKynlie, Erikstyn Prater, Axel Prater, Tate Sparkman, Aceton Sparkman and Mikel Collins; his great grandchildren, Jaydence Caudill, Bralon Collins, Kenzley Hoover, Maxton Hoover, Grayson Lucas and Easton Uriah Napier; his sisters, Shirley Adams, Lillie Bentley (Troy), Arda White (Gary) and Reda Slone; his siblings-in-law, Fern Slone, Curby Thacker and Jimmy Huff; and his close friends, Dean, Ruth Dobson, Margie Potter and Willie Clay Potter.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hindman Funeral Services (619 Hindman Bypass, Hindman, KY 41822). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
