She was predeceased by: her parents, John Riley and Cora Lee Sexton Byrd; her husband Kenard Carson; her son Howard Kenny Carson; her parents-in-law, Leon and Laura Cecil Carson; her grandson Derrick Coffey; her children-in-law, Terry Upchurch and Kathy Tucker Carson; and her siblings, Magdalene Hill, Vanie Newport, Nova Jean Owens, Mazena Edmons and Obra Byrd.
She is survived by: her siblings, Sara Knedler and David Byrd (Mary Lou); her children, Pam Upchurch of Somerset, KY, Sherry New (Randy) of Whitley City, KY, Johnny Carson of Pine Knot, KY and Ricky Carson (Dawn) of Somerset, KY; her grandchildren, Kendra Coffey, Shawn New, Teri Lynn Upchurch, Amanda Dugger (Randy), Brandon New (Tiffany), Kenny Nathaniel Carson (Whitney), Ricky Douglas Carson, Kiersten Wilson (Jason) and Jordan Staley (Dillan); her nieces, Cora Lou Queener, Dorothy Watson (Jenny) and Brenda Witham; and her nephew Butch Owens. She is also survived by grandkids; 2 great-great grandkids; and many other relatives and friends.
