He was predeceased by: his parent Ed Smith; and his siblings, Floyd Smith, Lloyd Smith, Charles Smith, Jimmy Smith, Laura Allen, Bertha Smith and Patsy Honeycutt.
He is survived by: his parent Ethel Gilreath Smith; his wife Shirley Caddell Smith of Pine Knot; his son Elmer Wade Smith of Pine Knot; and his siblings, Leonard Smith of Edinburgh, Oliver Smith (Debbie) of Martinsville, Mary Lemke, Barbara Tallent of Albany and Ann Goodman of Oneida. He is also survived by great-grandchildren who was his pride and joy; Kinley and Jacey Creekmore along with a host of other relatives and many friends.
