He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Wilson and Dessie Wilson (Brannam); his stepson Richard Frances "Rick" Neal; and his sisters, Evelyn Wilson Cooper and Patricia Ellen Wilson Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Viola Wilson (McCarter) of Pine Knot; his sons, Timothy Allen Wilson of Pine Knot, James Ezra Wilson of Pine Knot and Thomas Eli Wilson (Sherry) of Pine Knot; his grandchildren, Timothy Howard Wilson (Kathy), Tiffany Danielle Wilson and James Eugene Wilson (Michelle); his stepgrandchildren, Aaron Neal and Alicia Ulrich; and his cousin Kathleen Marnhout. He is also survived by great grandchildren and seven great, great-grandchildren.
