She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Orville Kennedy and Beatrice Kennedy (Helton); her son Curtis Ray Ballou; and her sisters, Carol Proctor, Debra Conrad and Denise Bowman.

She is survived by: her daughter Rita Kay Genoe of Monticello; her grandchildren, Kenneth Genoe, Maranda Young, Nicholas Edward Stephens and Dylan Ballou; her great grandchild Marcos Popche; and her siblings, John Kennedy (Alicia), Andy Kennedy (Vickie), Mike Kennedy (Janice), Wayne Kennedy, Pam Garland, Janice Bell (David Ball), Sue Jones, Sharon Schoffner, Shelby Davis, Elaine Tucker, Becky Phillips (Marty) and Rita Garner.
