It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sherry Scaggs of Pikeville, Kentucky, who passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cornelius Thacker and Glema Mullins Thacker; her siblings, Richard Thacker and Maggie Dye; and her grandson Gregory Michael McCoy.

She is survived by: her husband Donnie Scaggs; her daughters, Jennifer McCoy (Brad) of Georgetown, Shauna Scaggs of Belfry and Jessica Scaggs of Pikeville; her siblings, Terry Thacker of Pikeville and Bernadette Allen of Coal Run; and her grandchildren, Lindsey Scaggs, Ryan Price and Sarah Scaggs.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 6:00 PM and on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Boldman Freewill Baptist Church (142 Church Rd, Harold, KY 41635). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
