He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Slone and Verda Kendrick Slone; his brothers, Gene David Slone and James Slone; his son John Varney; his granddaughter Hunter Jeanay Lell; and his great grandchild Jeremiah Griffey.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Thacker Slone; his children, Norma Spears (Dean) of Mouth Card, Robbie Slone (Jessica) of Mouth Card, Elizabeth Cantrell (Michael) of Mouth Card, Angela Hicks (Mark) of Richmond, Deborah Lell (Matt) of Fedscreek and Kristie Skeens (Lyle "Cooter") of Mouth Card; his brothers, Don Slone, Doug Slone and George Slone; his grandchildren, Kim, Brody, Lindsey, Kerra, Alexandria, Timothy, Isaac, Olivia, Benjamin, Sarah, Jessica, Jonathan, Justin, Ashley, Brianna, Tayla and Sierra; his great grandchildren, LaKenzie, Rayven, Darby, Maggie, Clay, Ella, Tien, Titus, Bryson, Brennan, Braylen, Kayden, Colton, Waylon, Aubree and Carder; and his friends, Mike Dameron, Keith Hurley, Ron Miller and Gary Coleman.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Mountain View Church of Christ.
