He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kurkowski and Julie Kurkowski; his sons, John Edward Kurkowski and Joseph Michael Kurkowski; and his sister Irene Pike.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Fields Kurkowski; his children, Frank Jason Kurkowski, James Anthony Kurkowski and Joyce Ann Sanford; and his stepson Troy Lee Fields. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home (2931 US-23, Pikeville, KY 41501). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
