It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene David Adkins Sr. (Pikeville, Kentucky), who passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Coney Adkins and Thurssey Justice Adkins; his son Gene David Adkins Jr.; and his grandsons, Gene Odell Adkins and Larry Parks Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Lucie Mary Poitras Adkins; his children, Michael Adkins Sr. and Shelia Parks; his sisters, Judy Reynolds and Sadie Coleman; and his grandchildren, Michael Adkins Jr., Lori Adkins, Johnny Adkins, Santerria Adkins, Robert Adkins and Dewey Parks. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.
