Burlin Coleman Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Burlin Coleman of Pikeville, Kentucky, who passed away on January 23, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Miles Coleman and Katherine Smith Coleman; his former wife Jean Coleman; and his sister Zettie Hunt. He is survived by: his wife Sally Ousley Coleman; his son Dr. Larry Bruce Coleman (Betty Coleman) of Pikeville; his stepson James Reynolds (Shaunda Dixon) of Martin; his daughter Dr. Kay Coleman Hazelett of Clay City; his stepdaughter Jessica Reynolds of Lexington, Kentucky; his siblings, Amos Coleman (Sue) of Kimper, Nora Hunt of Kimper and Mabel Blackburn (Harold) of Fenton, Michigan.; his grandchildren, Brian Coleman (Samantha Spencer), Jessica Drage (Jon), Tyler Hazelett (LaCosta), Rachel Hazelett (Robert Nolan III), Kelsey Reynolds, Rebecca Reynolds and John Reynolds (Zoe); and his great grandchildren, Michael Coleman, Charles Drage, Benjamin Drage, Jack Lawrence Drage and Julius Leaman.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Pikeville (126 4th St, Pikeville, KY 41501).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Mr. Coleman's memory to, the First Baptist Church of Pikeville, 126 4th St., Pikeville, Ky. 41501 or the University of Pikeville, 147 Sycamore St., Pikeville, Ky. 41501.
