He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Thacker and Minnie Collins Thacker; his wife Mittie Thacker; his daughter Penny Thacker; his grandson Charles Bobby Thacker; and his siblings, Grennie Thacker, Charles Gary Thacker, Larry Dean Thacker, Shirley Haynie and Kathy Thacker.
He is survived by: his son Charles Thacker (Sara Hatch); his siblings, Roy Thacker (Ann), Otis Thacker Jr. (Ada Fay), Patricia Margie Bevins, Alice Thacker and Brenda Adkins; his stepchildren, Rhonda Combs, Ronald Combs and David Combs; his grandchildren, Cherish Thacker (Glen Dalton Coleman), Charley Dawn Thacker, Aubrey Grace Thacker and Malachi Ray Thacker; and his great grandchild Kalani Rose "Papaw' (Coleman) of Papaw's Rosebud.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home (2931 US-23, Pikeville, KY 41501). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Thacker's Cemetery.
