He was predeceased by: his parents, Burlin Abshire Sr. and Emogene Smith Abshire; his former wife Barbara Hunt Abshire; and his sister Sandra Lynn Fugate. He is survived by: his wife Christine Reynolds Abshire; his son Brian Keith "Clyde" Abshire (Julie "Prissy") of Matewan, WV; his stepson Paul Phillips (Stephanie) of Mouthcard; his daughter Margo R. Williams of Florida; his siblings, Jim Abshire (Anita) of Kimper, Barry Abshire (Michelle) of Phyllis and Barb Kisner (Art) of Fairmont, WV; his grandchildren, Mikaela Abshire and Miranda Abshire; his stepgrandchildren, Patrick Steven Yates, Andrew Yates (Rebecca), Sentella Williams, Kristi Ramey, Colton Phillips (Alexis), Jordon Looney and Lakan (Jordon Mullins); and his great grandchildren, Maddi, Jacob and Natalie.
