He was predeceased by: his wife Loraine Justice Melton; his parents, Claude Melton and Beulah Hoxit Melton; and his children, Tabitha Melton and Randy Paul Melton.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Taylor (Jerry), Burt Melton, Wade Melton (Susanne), Drew Melton (Juan Carlos) and Teddy Melton (Myra); and his siblings, Glen Melton and Ruth Brooks. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren.
