He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Cook and Agnes Onstott Cook; and his daughter Rebekah Louise Cook. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Elliott Cook; his son James S. "Buddy" Cook Jr. (Danna); his granddaughters, Rebekah Elder (Josh) and Jessica Cook; his great grandchild Caroline Elder; and his sister Florence Bratcher. He is also survived by several nephews and cousins.
