We are sad to announce that on March 27, 2024, at the age of 79, Frederick Matthew Coomes Jr. of Philpot, Kentucky, born in Detroit, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Fred and Helen Shepherd Coomes Sr. Fred; his siblings, Mike Coomes and Sue Rittmeyer-Coomes; and his niece Amy Jones Krakowski.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Bittel; his children, Shannon Coomes of Whitesville, Fred Coomes III (Jessica) of Sacramento, KY, Tim Coomes (Brandy) of Shelbyville, IN, Andy Coomes (Erin) of Midlothian, TX, Sarah Geoghegan (Craig) of Bardstown, KY, David Coomes (Ginny) of Owensboro, Stephanie Morris (Michael) of Princeton, KY and Suzanne Coomes of Philpot; his grandchildren, Samantha McMichael (Brandon), Cody Payne, Jacob Coomes, Grace Coomes, Audrey Coomes, Cameron Geoghegan, Luke Coomes, Liam Coomes, Dylan Geoghegan, McKinnley Coomes, Emma Coomes, Ruby Coomes, Freddie Coomes IV, Eli Geoghegan, Charley Coomes, Braylen Geoghegan and Emory Geoghegan; his great grandchildren, Sophia McMichael, Aleah Payne, Cole Payne, Blake McMichael, Stella McMichael, Shelby McMichael and Riley McMichael; and his sister Theresa Jones (Frankie) of Owensboro. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
