He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Charles and Bertha Maynard Charles (Tootsie); his siblings, Stanley Charles, Danny Charles, Helen Trent (Hassel) and Monica Jackson (George); and his stepdaughter Veronica Blankenship.
He is survived by: his daughters, Treva Charles and Melissa Combs (Buford Jr.); his stepdaughter Monica Blankenship (Martin); his grandchildren, Justin Combs, LaTosha Ratliff (Payton), Shay Spears, BJ McClanahan and McGarrett Fields; his great grandchildren, Baylee, Karson Combs, Colton, Maicy Ratliff, Sydney, Lori Johnson, Gabriella, Serenity and McGarrett Dean Fields II; his sisters, Bonetta McClanahan (Tommy Ray) and Claudette Pyszkowski; his sister-in-law Lucille Charles; and his close friend Chris Dotson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Jones & West Funeral Home (37035 KY-194, Phelps, KY 41553). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
