He is survived by: his wife Nancy Dotson of Pawpaw; his children, Clayton Dotson Jr. of Pawpaw and Katie Sophia Dotson of Capac; and his siblings, Arlie Dotson (Janice) of Pawpaw, Bobby Dotson (Joyce) of Pawpaw, David Dotson of Pawpaw, Clinton Dotson (Lillie Jean) of Grundy and Bonnie Marion (Bert) of Ohio. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
