He was predeceased by: his parents, Zora Young Blankenship (Slone) and Beaul Dencil Young; his stepfather Bert Blankenship; and his siblings, Eugene, Walter Young, Nyoka and Mary Dean Young.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Young; his son Darrell Smith (Mindy) of Garrett, KY; his siblings, Otto Young (Sterling), Richard Young of Pikeville, KY, Marilee Borum of Phelps, KY, Judith Showalter (David) of Phelps, KY and Bessie Blankenship of Stopover, KY; his nephew James Blankenship of Stopover, KY; and his great-nephew Colton Newsome. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be in the chapel Thursday evening from 6:00-9:00 P. M. Due to the restrictions of the Covid 19 pandemic we can only use one third of our chapel's seating capacity.
