He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Frank and Frances Bower Ross; his son John Thomas Ross, Jr.; and his brothers, Roger Ross and James Ross.
He is survived by: his wife Jerlyn Sue Ross; his children, Heather Ross Lester (Tommy) and Thad Hunter Ross; his grandchildren, Madelaine Sindorf (Bob), Ross Nolan (Annie) and Emma Nolan; his great grandchild Nicholas Sindorf; and his sisters, Kaye Nascimbeni (Dave) and Sue Litkenhus (John).
