He was predeceased by: his siblings, Margaret Ellis, J. A. Johnson, Jr., Terry, LeRoy, Tom Johnson, Ethel Wilson and Bea Lane.

He is survived by: his children, Paula Edmiston (Sam), Jessica Montgomery (Robbie), Janice Coursey (John) and Roger Johnson (Maggie); his grandchildren, Amanda Lee Johnson, Gracie Edmiston, Caleb Edmiston, Cody Kondik and Emma Kondik; and his sisters, Barbara Engle and Betty Kolb. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
