He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Shaw Cowell and Levy Bratton Shaw; his son Charles Richard "Ricky" Shaw, Jr.; and his siblings, Billy Wayne Shaw, Joyce Sisk, Jean Howard and Shirley Shaw.

He is survived by: his wife Ina Faye Engle Shaw; his daughters, Teri Shaw, Patricia Shaw and Becky Barnes (Larry); and his grandchildren, Angela Appleby (Justin), Richard Owens (Jennifer) and Chris Hogue. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
