He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles S. Mefford and Emma Lou Nevil Mefford; his grandmothers, Campbellsville University, Masters of Guidance and Counseling; his wife June Shouse Mefford; his sons, Bradley Mefford (Melissa) and Byron Mefford (Becky); his grandchildren, Ira June, Rudy Rae, Malachi Caleb, Judah Byron and Ezekiel Robert; and his brother Randy Mefford. He was also cherished by extended family and friends.
